TOURS FOR TEAM BONDING

2/27/2023

Engaged employees are the key to any business's success and online team-building activities are a convenient way to build bonds across remote and hybrid teams while encouraging non-work communication, and increasing cross-team collaborations. Keeping corporate culture and engagement up after the holidays can be tricky, so why not whisk everyone off on a vacation overseas to New Zealand, Senegal, and Berlin to experience something new together?

The Colorful and Lively Fishing Harbor of Mbour
Did you know that the Senegalese eat up to 35 kilograms (77 pounds) of fish each year? Join our guide on a visit to the lively artisanal fishing port of Mbour, one of the largest fishing ports in the country which serves as a major hub for the local fishing industry. Home to a bustling fish market where local fishermen bring in their daily catch of fish, octopus, and other seafood, this lively experience will show how artisanal handmade fishing boats called pirogues are made. As part of the tour, visit the area of the market where Senegalese women transform fresh fish products into dried products to sell and pass to the many seafood restaurants and cafes that line the harbor, making it a popular spot for visitors to enjoy a meal while watching the boats come and go.

Auckland Harbourside Walking Tour
Transport your team to another continent from the breakout room or over a team Zoom event. This interactive experience brings everyone to Auckland’s bustling harbourside, walking across two of the city’s iconic drawbridges to arrive at Wynyard Quarter offering spectacular views of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, Sky Tower (its tallest freestanding structure), and the city skyline. A beautiful place to take a stroll, people-watch, and enjoy the sight of yachts coming and going. Time the tour to take place just before sunset; you might be lucky enough to enjoy a spectacular light show.

Queer Berlin - Explore the LGBTQ Capital of Europe
If your company is looking to introduce some DEI initiatives, this tour of Queer Berlin is a great place to start. Let our guide show you around the Berlin of Marlene Dieterich, Christopher Isherwood, and David Bowie. Start at the Schwules ("Gay") Museum and walk past the street art on Bülowstr on the way to Nollendorfplatz station with its rainbow motif neon lighting. See the Memorial to the Nazi persecution of Homosexuals and take a walk around Motzstrasse, as you explore the facades of iconic bars and clubs, like the Eldorado and Connections or The Bull. The tour finishes at the square of Viktoria Luise Platz and Fuggerstrasse - the location of the annual Folsom party - ending at the historic Wittenbergplatz station; a fitting conclusion to a feature-filled hour.

In celebration of Black History Month, a month-long celebration of African-American culture and history, we’ve gathered some of the most interesting, interactive tours that shed light on important figures from Black History and the ongoing exploration of Black lives, their achievements, rich culture, heritage, and history.

Black History in Bahia: Walking Tour in Pelourinho
Who better to show you around the first capital of Brazil, Salvador in Bahia, than local Sayuri Cardoso Koshima, who grew up in this historic town known for its outstanding Renaissance buildings and brightly colored houses. On this live walking tour, you’ll hear traditional Bahia music, “dance” to the Samba reggae of Mestre Neguinho do Samba, tour the Sao Francisco Church (the most famous "gold" church in Brazil), and learn more about Black history hero Manoel Querino and his pioneering work as a labor leader, politician and Black vindicationist.

A March Through Time - A Historic Walking Tour of Cape Town
Led by South African Anita Hermanus (also known as Aunty Nita) who grew up on the Cape Flats, this immersive tour of the Mother City brings one through the iconic St. George's Cathedral and the Company Gardens. Walk past the lively flower sellers at Trafalgar Place before ending at the iconic City Hall where Nelson Mandela made his first speech after being freed from 27 years of imprisonment on 11 Feb 1990.

This unique tour sheds light on the rich Afro-Argentine history of Argentina. Give these three a spin this season and enjoy the holiday cheer!

Holiday Tours
Treat your staff and their families to a virtual trip to Germany’s Christmas markets at their leisure. They’ll soak in all the festive vibes with a live walking tour of Berlin’s famous Christmas market located near the iconic TV Tower and the Alexanderplatz. A beloved German holiday tradition, Berlin’s beautiful fairy-lit markets are famous all over the world as one of the prettiest and busiest, offering everything from mulled wine, to beautiful hand-crafted decorations and lots of delicious winter foods on display. Our local guide is more than happy to share stories about Germany’s unique holiday traditions like Krampus Night (Krampus Nacht), the symbolic meaning of advent calendars, and why they celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve.

Fun Year-Round Tours
What’s more fun than exploring a new city altogether? One done virtually and riding through the pretty cobbled streets of Amsterdam with our expert local guide Mark on his bike. He’ll tour you around all the city’s great views, drop fun nuggets of history and local quirks and show you firsthand how the locals do everything on two wheels. Best of all the route changes according to the weather but what you can be sure of is you’ll take in some beautiful views of the canals, houses, and bridges and come away feeling like you’ve visited Amsterdam in person.

Unique Team Bonding Tours
Did you know that the purpose of the Japanese tea ceremony is to create a closer bond between host and guest in pursuit of gaining inner peace? Explore the wonderful virtues of a Japanese tea brewing ceremony altogether as a team, as you individually brew an aromatic cup of green tea altogether. An insightful session where the host shares more about green tea’s special and highly symbolic place in Japanese culture. You’ll learn the easy brewing techniques to produce a perfect cup of green tea, how to make sure it isn’t bitter, what makes for a good green tea pairing, and learn more about life in Japan.

If you prefer to leave the tour choice up to the individual, you can still purchase a gift card to share a unique Beeyonder tour at their leisure.
